969 Burrard Street - DP-2017-00905

Westbank has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop this site with a 57 storey mixed-use building, a 7 storey residential building and restoration of the First Baptist Church. The proposal includes the following:


• 392 dwelling units (61 social housing units /331 market units);
• retail, child daycare and church uses;
• building height of 556 ft. (57 storeys) and 60 ft. 7 storeys);
• 585,098 sq. ft. of floor area; and
• seven levels of underground parking accessed from the lane.


Under the site’s approved CD-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted; however, it requires the decision of the Development Permit Board.

This rezoning application was approved by City Council, following Public Hearing, on July 26, 2017. Among the conditions of Council’s approval, the applicant must obtain approval of a development permit.  In making a decision on a development application, the Development Permit Board shall have particular regard to the conditions outlined in the rezoning report, but may allow minor alterations to the form of development previously approved by Council.
