1401 East 49th Avenue - DP-2016-00204

Acton Ostry Architects Inc. along with the Vancouver School Board has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to develop on this site a new 3-storey building containing an elementary school on levels 1 and 2, and a 69 space Child Day Care Facility on level 3, located on the northeast corner of the site.  The application includes:

    • A new 3-storey building (replacing the existing Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary), with access from Lanark Street;
    • Demolition of the existing school buildings;
    • Re-grading of the site, alterations to existing landscaping, and provision of new playing fields and playground.

Under the site’s existing RS-1 zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted; however, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.

We welcome your written comments (letter or e-mail) on this development application. Comments should be received on, or before September 12 , 2016, to be considered in the staff review. However, comments will be considered up until the date of decision.
