1060 Howe Street - DP-2017-01056 - Temporary Development Application

Community Builders has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to temporarily change the use of this site to a “social service centre” to operate it as a Temporary Shelter, including:


• 30 beds;
• Open 7 days a week; 6pm – 10am;
• Three staff at all times;
• Two meals/day;
• Showers and health and housing services; and
• The shelter will open early December


Under the site’s existing Downtown District zoning, the application is “conditional” and the Director of Planning is prepared to exercise his discretion to issue the permit for this conditional use.
